We’ve all heard or read about it: someone whose private pictures were posted on the internet without their permission. Often the culprit is a former boyfriend or girlfriend who is no longer your friend. To combat this Telenet has developed the .comdom app: it adds a watermark to your private pictures containing the details of the recipient, reducing the odds of your pictures ending up online unwanted.

Sending pictures safer in 1-2-3

1. TAKE YOUR PICTURE

Take your picture with the camera in the app. Try not to show your face as well as other distinguishing traits such as tattoos or moles.

2. PROTECT YOUR PICTURE WITH A WATERMARK

Add a personalised watermark to your picture with the name and mobile number of the recipient. This will make the lucky recipient think twice before sharing your picture.

3. SAVE YOUR PICTURE

Then you can send your picture. It’s a good idea to use Snapchat because this app automatically deletes your picture as soon as the recipient has seen it.

Remark: Like a real condom, the .comdom app is never 100% safe. So be sure to only send private pictures to someone you know well.
